Hello Phil,

In April we exchanged emails about how to adapt your product to my situation - auto sales.

If you recall my challenge was portability. That is I regularly place new and pre-owned vehicles in high traffic areas. I have arrangements with two malls here in Fredericton to have three to four vehicles on display at any given time.

The reason I was looking for a product like yours was twofold. First, my business cards, as other Dealers were doing, were placed under the rubber on the sides of the windows and under the windshield wipers. This looked unprofessional. Plus, kids would push them down inside the windows and often the car ended up scratched when someone reached across the hood to take a card from under the wiper.

I initially felt the challenge with your product was portability. You recall you sent me extra adhesive strips. I did attempt to place one Card Pocket on a vehicle using the strips. In the process it dawned on me, "What am I going to do with the Business Card sign?" This was more serious as I definitely was not going to continuously stick and then remove the signs from brand new cars!

Phil, my thinking is that obstacles are the doorway to opportunity. In our initial communication I suggested if a solution could be found, you will have a awesome marketing opportunity. Here's one!

A solution...

  1. A common item in any automobile dealership is the plastic pouch you see hanging from inside a used car. Inside it is a listing of the options and price for the vehicle
  2. I placed the base of the Card Pocket holder inside the pouch at the bottom.
  3. I then placed the Business Card sign inside the pouch about 2 inches (5 centimetres) above the base.
  4. Two holes were cut to allow the holder to attach to the base from the outside of the plastic pouch.
  5. The vehicle pouch was attached to the window as usual...
  6. ...but hung on the outside.

The benefits include the card holder is secured to the vehicle, it is now easily transferable from one vehicle to another, and nothing is stuck to the vehicle.

Phil, the attached PDF file gives a pictorial explanation (click here to view).  If there is an application to your business, I am delighted to have been able to help. As an aside, RV dealers, farm equipment dealers, tractor-trailer dealers all use the same pouches.

In closing, I will also be copying you on a request from a sales rep. from another Dealer (yes a competitor) as to where I purchased the Vehicle Card Pockets. And, I will be ordering another set. They work!

Best regards,

Jeffrey Doucet
